Francesca Avalli, MS, OTR/L brings over two decades of experience treating children with learning disabilities. Her treatments are known for combining an extensive knowledge of sensory integration with irresistible energy and creative solutions. As a licensed occupational therapist specializing in pediatrics since 2000, Francesca has worked with children diagnosed with a variety of sensory, genetic, developmental and neurological disorders including autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X syndrome, ADD, ADHD and cerebral palsy. During her career, she has worked in hospitals, homes, and led interventions in clinics and schools. Francesca also holds certifications in Sensory Integration (SIPT Certified), Therapeutic Listening, and Yoga for the Special Child.
Deborah Haratoonian graduated from Loma Linda University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy. Previously, she attended the University of California, Los Angeles where she received her Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Educational Studies. Deborah began her career in pediatrics as a social skills facilitator in Santa Monica, CA, where her passion for working with kids grew. As an Occupational Therapist, she has worked in clinic-based settings with children as young as 6 months to 13 years old with a variety of diagnosis and developmental delays. She is enthusiastic in collaborating with families to provide individualized care ensuring each child meets their fullest potential. Deborah continues to further her professional development with continuing education in Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism, and ADHD.
Leslie Wootton graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology. While working for the Salt Lake School District, as an OT/PT assistant, she became interested in OT and helping children.
She then pursed a Masters Degree from the University of Southern California and began practicing in LAUSD classroom and clinic settings for over two decades. She uses sensory integration theory and various kinesthetic and multisensory learning approaches to help teachers develop creative methods to facilitate optimal learning environments. She supports parents with new approaches for meeting the various needs of their children.
Leslie is also a published photographer. She spends as much time as possible photographing nature. She also spends a lot of time volunteering at her children’s schools. Leslie believes that her experience as an engaged parent has brought a deeper level of understanding for the issues families face on a daily basis. She is excited to continue her practice at TWLA as a collaborator with parents and other caregivers, helping clients engage in enjoyable, meaningful activities so that they may reach their full potential.
